The behavioral patterns of the workers at literally every ice cream shop in downtown Chapel Hill should be studied. Iβm leaving this review for this shop because thereβs truly no discrepancies between the service here and any ice cream shop in this town so thereβs no need for multiple reviews. I get excited whenever I decide to go for a scoop of ice cream now, primarily because of the delightfully foul mood of every single ice cream shop worker in Orange County. The jarring dichotomy present as someone serves me my non-dairy ice cream with sprinkles while they glare at me never ceases to tickle me. I would dare to say itβs almost camp. I am not exaggerating when I say that every time I go for ice cream, anywhere on Franklin St, specifically, I receive some variation of eye-rolling, mumbling, annoyed stares, no eye contact, sass, 0 response to simple questions, etc. Once at this particular location I asked to pay in cash and the cashier looked at me like I had spat in her face. Fabulous. The hypnotic vibe of being treated like a hardened criminal while getting a sweet treat is hilarious and always makes my day. I would venture to say all ice cream shop employees in this town need to

Very disappointing serviceβtwice. On our first visit, we weren't greeted, and the employee spent an excessive amount of time chatting with the customer ahead of us. We gave this location a second chance, but the same employee was in the back on her phone. After saying "excuse me" twice, she responded from the back instead of coming out to help. When asked if someone could assist us, she simply said she was the only one working, with no effort to acknowledge us or say she'd be right with us. Basic customer service goes a long way. After two poor experiences, we won't be returning.

The college kids who were working were eager to help and get customers in and out. Price point is very high, but ice cream was good.

Ahhhh, how could I not love Cold Stone? Their ice cream is rich in flavor and texture, making it all-around satisfying to eat! The Oreo Overload signature creation is my absolute favorite, and I visited Cold Stone on Thursday afternoon due to my craving for it (substituting Sweet Cream with Oreo CrΓ¨me for maximum effect + added rainbow sprinkles). As always, it tasted amazing! Albeit Iβd like to give a special shoutout to Aleaha, the ice creamer who was working that day! I was the only one in the store when I first entered, and we had a really good conversation as she rung me up and I settled down. Also, Aleaha exhibits quality customer service! When she saw a piece of hair in my ice cream, she immediately remade it and didnβt try serving it to me. I highly respected her for that, because not every ice creamer (or food service worker in general) is observant of that type of stuff. You can definitely expect great customer service and a real treat if you walk into Cold Stone while Aleahaβs working. Rock on, Aleaha!

What a great location. Typical ice cream variety and selection of toppings, etc. the staff were awesome. They were extremely friendly, polite and courteous. They literally went out of their way to make customers satisfied. Such a great experience and of course, absolutely delicious ice cream. Highly recommend.
